What this site is for
This is patient education about the cheek and midface, published by Chongqing West District Hospital, a tertiary general hospital in Jiulongpo District, Chongqing. It is an area guide rather than a procedure page: it answers which of several problems you have, which options address it, and how to choose between them. The individual procedures are described on the guides this site links to, and repeating them here would help nobody.
The distinction the site is built on
The cheek is a place where two opposite problems look alike in a mirror. A hollow cheek has too little tissue; a heavy lower cheek has the same tissue in the wrong position. One is answered by adding volume and the other by repositioning a layer, and the two treatments have nothing in common in technique, in recovery or in risk. Naming the right direction is most of the decision, and adding volume to a cheek that has descended is the mistake this site exists to prevent.
What it deliberately does not do
It does not name products or brands, quote prices or dosages, or promise a result. It does not present a thread or a device as a way of lifting a descended face, because neither restores the ligament that failed. It does not describe surgical technique in detail, and it does not tell you which option to choose: that follows from an examination, and a website cannot perform one.
The limits of a website
Nothing here can tell you how much of your own midface change is fat, how much is ligament, how much is bone, or whether the difference between your two cheeks is one an operation would improve. Those answers come from someone examining you at rest and in movement and comparing the two sides, which cannot be taken from a photograph you send. Use this site to arrive at an assessment with better questions, and treat any answer you receive here as general information rather than as advice about you.
