General information only

The content of this site is patient education. It describes the structures of the cheek, how a complaint is assigned to one of them, and what each option costs in time, recovery and risk. It is not a diagnosis, it is not a treatment recommendation for any individual, and it does not create a doctor-patient relationship.

No substitute for examination

Whether your own midface change is fat, ligament or bone, whether a hollow is a loss of tissue or a gap left by descent, whether the difference between your two cheeks appears at rest or only in movement, and whether a cheekbone is genuinely wide are findings that can only be established by examining you. Reading this site cannot substitute for that, and a plan made from a website alone is a plan made without information.

Results vary and are not guaranteed

Individual results differ, and no physician and no website can guarantee an outcome. Volume does not correct descent, repositioning does not fill a hollow, and a device or a thread does not restore a ligament. Any statement that appears to promise more than that should be treated with suspicion wherever you encounter it.

If something is wrong after treatment

If you have had a cheek treatment and develop severe pain, blanching or a mottled colour change in the skin, a cold or dusky patch, any change in vision, new facial weakness, or fever with spreading redness, contact the treating team or seek emergency care immediately rather than waiting for a routine appointment.
